Aug 2021 - Dec 2022

Business Problem:

Users struggled to complete key tasks because the terminology and workflows did not align with their mental models, causing confusion and inefficiencies.

Research Program:

  • Generative interviews to understand user roles, existing processes, pain points, opportunities, and needs

  • Card sort and tree test to refine terminology, grouping, and definitions.

  • A/B testing to assess whether prefix or infix logic better aligns with user mental models for building conditions

  • UX competitive research to identify strengths and opportunities for improvement

  • Prototype testing (3) to evaluate a new feature, a key task flow, and a refreshed task flow, ensuring effective usable design before launch

Impact:

My research program led to a data-informed product revamp with improved terminology and a UX aligned with user mental models, enhancing market competitiveness. It also fostered greater empathy within the product team, enabling a deeper understanding of user needs and opportunities.
